How We Raise
Hiland Doodle Puppies

All of our dogs are part of our family, and all our puppies are lovingly raised right inside our home on our main level. We have a devoted puppy room where they are kept safe and warm, where mom has privacy and can be at ease with her babies, yet the puppies are always with us and exposed to our lives so they come to you well socialized.
-
For the safety and health of the pups, every feeding is supervised by us.
-
Puppies are exposed to being held and handled daily. Not only for affection and playtime, but we touch their feet, ears, and tails to ease future potential grooming anxiety.
-
They are exposed to young children (elementary thru high school ages) to help prepare them for the more rambunous human variety they may encounter in their lives.
-
When old enough and momma lets, they are exposed to the other dogs and our cat that live in our home.
-
Once the puppies are more mobile, they come out of the puppy room to be more under feet and exposed to the outdoors (weather permitting).
-
They are exposed to common household sounds, such vacuum cleaners.
-
At three weeks, we begin litter training with wood and alpha pellets, which have a grass/outdoorsy smell. This helps speed outdoor potty training in their new homes.
-
The puppies are exposed to a kennel to help kennel training in their new homes, or for an airplane flight.
-
Puppies are exposed to water weekly after 4 weeks through baths and/or water playtime.
-
Mom and puppies are on a highly nutrious diet. The puppies are weighed daily for the first 2-3 weeks, and pups are supplemented as needed. Mom is also kept on Breeder's Edge vitamins while she is pregnant until she has weaned her pups.
-
Puppies are dewormed every 2 weeks starting at 2 weeks old and we follow a vet's vaccination guidelines.
